Following graduation from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi, I worked for several nonprofit organizations before getting my law degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California in 1984.
I served as Legal Counsel for the Presbyterian Church in America from 1984-1988 and then worked with Ronald Blue and Company while transitioning into private practice.
During this time I had a growing interest in estate planning as I saw the dramatic difference between situations where someone properly planned for their disability and death and those situations where little or no planning left behind a legacy of confusion, disorder, and often resentment and broken relationships.
I have had extensive training in advanced estate planning techniques through WealthCounsel, the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, and other professional groups. I continually seek to improve my understanding and skills so that I can better serve clients who have entrusted me with their estate planning.
The friendships I have formed with clients are very important to me. I have been in practice long enough to help more than one generation of a number of families with their estate planning needs.
I have been selected for the "Five Star Estate Planning Attorney" award for eleven years by Atlanta Magazine.
I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your estate planning needs if you would schedule a complimentary 30-minute phone meeting on the "Contact Us" page of this website.
